(1) The purpose of this Policy is to ensure that the naming of buildings, facilities, or other spaces at QUT be undertaken in a way consistent with the determinations of QUT Council. No University building, facility, space, or other physical feature may have a name applied to it other than via this Policy and associated procedures. (2) This Policy applies to the naming of University buildings and any part of University buildings. (3) This Policy has no relation to any TEQSA Threshold Standards. (4) QUT Council has determined that, in naming buildings and parts of buildings, due regard be given to persons who have been associated prominently with the University, including major financial contributors. Council intends that names only be considered as the occasion arises or otherwise warrants. (5) Council has delegated authority to the Vice-Chancellor and President to approve the naming of University buildings (Register of Authorities and Delegations).
